I don’t want people to think my blog is becoming a place for me solely to review businesses…but I do have to share things I feel passionate about and honestly? Mor Furniture, you are a huge disappointment and I will never, ever go back to you again. Not now, not never.
Back when we first arrived in San Diego in the second week of December, Adam and I went furniture shopping. I wanted to have a couch purchased before I began my new job, as it would be one less thing to worry about.
One of Adam’s friends regretfully got his couch from Mor Furniture (6965 Consolidated Way, San Diego, 866-466-7435), but since it was affordable, we decided to go there anyway. When we stepped inside (keep in mind this was back on December 12), we were in awe of how many options there were and began walking around. A couple of hours, over a thousand dollars, and a meeting with a salesman later, we had purchased a sectional. The only problem was that the couch wasn’t in stock, and we were told it would take three weeks to be built and delivered, meaning it would arrive on January 2, 2014. We liked our couch enough that we were willing to wait.
A week before the scheduled delivery, Adam called and found out the delivery had been pushed back to January 9. We were annoyed, and Adam called the number above (which is a generic customer service line), and after awhile on the phone, he got in touch with our salesman, who profusely apologized for this inconvenience. We decided, again, it was worth the wait.
Until…four days before the new scheduled delivery date, when we called back, we were told delivery was pushed back yet again, this time until January 21.
We couldn’t believe it, but we should’t have been all that surprised. If you look at Mor Furniture’s Yelp, you’ll see the reviews are less-than-great, and many people have experienced what we did and have gone months without receiving their purchased order. And unfortunately, most of the bad reviews are filtered, which would drastically affect its rating and make it closer to a 1-star business instead.
The same day we found this out, we canceled our order (which will apparently take 10 business days to refund…umm…yeah) and went to Home Furniture on El Cajon Blvd in San Diego. Su (who has been running this family business for the past 20 years) was knowledgeable and helpful, and guaranteed our couch would be delivered to us by Wednesday, January 8, at 7 pm. And wouldn’t you know that around 3 pm on Wednesday, we got our couch.
The moral of the story being…
Mor Furniture (also known as Mor Furniture for less) has three locations: 880 Arnele Ave, El Cajon, CA; 900 Los Vallecitos Blvd, San Marcos, CA; and the aforementioned 6965 Consolidated Way, San Diego, CA location.
And I strongly advise anyone in the San Diego area to stay away from this business’s three locations and go elsewhere (preferably to Su at Home Furniture). Mor Furniture is a huge disappointment, and clearly my Mor Furniture review is telling you this place is bad and it’s not worth the time, money, or stress of going there.
