Cheddar Jalapeño Bacon Beer Bread

Well friends, it doesn’t get realer than this.

Maybe it does. But not likely.

The other night we made beer chili (recipe to come). And we got fresh jalapeños to put on top. Along with some cheddar cheese. And then we had bacon in our fridge because we literally always have some in our fridge, and then I got to thinking.

I’ve made cheddar beer bread before. And I’ve also made cheddar jalapeño corn bread. But I have yet to make the ultimate bread of all time: Cheddar Jalapeño Bacon Beer Bread.

So I did.

Cheddar Jalapeño Bacon Beer Bread

▴ 2 cups all-purpose flour
▴ 1 cup whole wheat flour
▴  3 tsp baking powder
▴  1 tsp salt
▴  1/2 cup diced jalapeños
▴  4 slices of bacon, cooked and chopped
▴  1 cup finely shredded cheddar cheese
▴  1 bottle (12 oz) of beer
▴  5 tbsp unsalted butter

Preheat your oven to 375*F. Spray loaf pan (9×5 in) with nonstick spray.

In a bowl, sift together the all-purpose flour and whole wheat flour (if you don’t have a sifter [I don’t], you can mix the flours together with a fork). Mix in the baking powder and salt. Then add in the cheddar, jalapeños and bacon, and mix. Lastly, add the bottle of beer and mix well, then add to your loaf pan. (The batter will be thick!) Melt the butter, and then pour it on top of the loaf.

Bake for 50-55 minutes (I usually do 52 minutes).

  1. looks good! i just made jalapeno cheddar corn bread last night… next time i’ll try this recipe out. btw we have the same measuring cups, only i got mine in yellow

    1. Did you get them at Target?

That corn bread sounds amazing. We should make each other breads and send them to each other.

Also my one recommendation is to add in some more bacon. Four pieces wasn’t enough. I’d go up to 6 probably.
