This Weekend in San Diego: October 31 – November 2

Can you believe the month is already over? It’s kind of crazy to me. What’s even crazier though? Tomorrow I’ll be on my way to the UK for a little over a week. I’ll be in our office there Monday through Friday, and will be spending an extra two days there to play in my favorite city ever: London.

Despite my not being around this weekend, here are three events I think are worth checking out in San Diego:

SENA Animal Rescue 5K-9 Run/Walk (event website)

Saturday, 7:00 am-12:00 pm

sena animal rescue 5k

It’s no secret I love animal rescues, and SENA (Stopping Euthanasia, Neglect and Abuse) is a nonprofit rescue organization that is hoping to raise enough funds to build a cage-free shelter for its animals. Run or walk this 5k and help raise money for this great cause! This event takes place at Liberty Station, and your registration fee includes a dog bandana, gift bag, raffle ticket, and medal.

Stretch Yourself Yoga (event website)

Saturday, 9:00 am-10:00 am

Head downtown for a free hour of yoga, sponsored by Scripps Health and taught by Yoga One. All levels are welcome and encouraged to join.

Ladies Healthy Happy Hour (event website)

Sunday, 4:00 pm-7:00 pm

I was actually planning on going to this event (and very much looking forward to it!) until this last-minute work trip came up. This healthy happy hour will take place at Road Runner Sports in Kearny Mesa, and will not only teach essential tips for recovery (including stretching and foam rolling techniques), but will also include drinks, snacks, and special discounts on items at the store. Registration is free and it’s going to be a great night! Thank you to Smitha for helping to make this event possible.

And with that, I’m off to work! Tonight should be a lot of fun. A couple of friends are coming over to hang out, and in addition to enjoying pumpkin-y baked goods (and likely some spiked apple cider and pumpkin beer), we will be handing out candy to the kids in the neighborhood.

Tomorrow, it’s a couple of last-minute errands, some more packing and then I’m off!

What are you up to this weekend?
