Gloria. 20-something. San Diego.
Here are a few things you might want to know:
I’m a former New Englander. I grew up in Connecticut, got my B.S. and M.S. at a small liberal arts college in Massachusetts, and moved to San Diego in 2013.
I love my dog. I adopted Maeby (like the character on Arrested Development) in August 2012. She’s my best friend and the best thing to ever happen to me. She made the trip across country with me when I moved.
I love my fiancé. I don’t mention him a lot on here (because who really wants to hear all the lovey-dovey stuff), but in July 2017, I’m marrying my best friend (second to Maeby, of course – but he knows this), and I can’t wait.
I’m switching up my career. I’ve worked in marketing for the past six years but am so passionate about making a difference that beginning summer 2017, I’ll be getting a second Masters in School Counseling. There’s no time like the present to go after what you want.
I started That SoCal Life so I could document my life on the west coast, while (hopefully) capturing the best places to eat, drink, and enjoy the sun in San Diego, including dog-friendly restaurants, parks, beaches and hiking trails. Though I update this less frequently than I used to, it’s still very much a creative outlet for me and I’m hoping that I can continue to use this space to share my thoughts, challenges I’m going through, and all that I’m experiencing while living and learning in sunny San Diego.
